奥巴马演讲:

愿你野蛮生长，终不负勇往!

给你们三个简短的建议

three quick pieces of advice

第一点，不要害怕

first don't be afraid

美国也曾经历过

America has gone through

困难时期

tough times before

奴隶制，内战，饥饿，疾病

slavery Civil war famine disease

大萧条和911

the Great Depression and 911

但是每一次

and each time

我们都会变得更强大

we came out stronger usually because a new generation

通常是因为像你们这样的新一代年轻人

young people like you

从过去的错误中学习

learn from past mistakes

思考如何变得更好

and figured out how to make things better

第二，做你认为正确的事情

second, do what you think is right

做那些感觉好的，

doing what feels good

方便的，简单的事情

what's convenient, what's easy

就像这小孩子的想法

that's how little kids think unfortunately

不幸的事，很多所谓的成年人

a lot of so called grown ups

包括一些头衔显赫、身居要职的人

including some with fancy titles and important jobs

却搞不明白

still think that way

反而把事情搞砸，搞复杂

which is why things are so screwed up

我希望你能坚持自己的价值观

I hope that instead you decide to ground yourself in values that last

像诚实、勤奋、负责

Like honesty,hard work, responsibility

公平、慷慨

fairness, generosity

和尊重他人

respect for others

你不可能每次都做对

you won't get it right every time

你会像我们一样犯错误

you'll make mistakes like we all do

但如果你听从内心的真理

but if you listen to the truth that's inside yourself

即使很难

even when it's hard

即使不方便

even when it's inconvenient

他们终会注意到你

people will notice,

你将成为焦点

they'll gravitate towards you

你将会成为

and you'll be part of the solution

解决问题的人，而不是产生问题的人

instead of part of the problem

最后一点，团结合作

And finally, build a community

单打独斗干不了大事

no one does big things by themselves

现在，当人们害怕的时候

right now, when people are scared

我们很容易愤世嫉俗

it's easy to be cynical and

说你们别管我

say let me just look out for myself

别管我家

or my family or people who look

别管或像我一样，思考祈祷的人

or think or pray like me but if we're gonna

但我们要度过这段困难时期

get through these difficult times

我们想要去创造一个世界

if we're gonna create a world where everybody

每个人都有机会去找到一份工作

has opportunity to find a job

去上大学

and afford college

如果我们想要拯救环境

if we're gonna save the environment

战胜疫情

and defeat future pandemics

那么我们就得团结起来

then we're gonna have to do it together

所以要关注彼此的困难

So be alive to one another's struggles

维护彼此的权利

stand up for one another's rights

抛弃所有使我们分裂的旧思维方式

Leave behind all the old ways of thinking that divide us

性别歧视，种族偏见，地位，贪婪

sexism, racial prejudice, status, greed

让世界走上正确的道路

and set the world on a different path

但事实是，你们不需要我告诉你们怎么做

But the truth is you don't need us to tell you what to do

因为在很多方面

Because in so many ways,

你们已经开始去引领他人

you've already started to lead
